Sannikov’s lawyers have lodged an appeal at the Minsk City Court
The lawyers for presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov have filed an appeal at the Minsk City Court.
As the attorney of A. Sannikov, Marina Kovalevskaya, reported to “Interfax West”, an appeal has today been sent by his defence to the Criminal Division of Minsk City Court. “This is a preliminary application. A more detailed appeal will be made after reading the protocol, which we have not yet been provided,” said M. Kovalevskaya.
The lawyer recalled that last week, A. Sannikov also lodged an appeal. According to her, the appeal should be considered within a month, but given the complexity and size of the case, it may take longer.
Earlier, the court found the Belarusian presidential candidate, Andrei Sannikov, guilty of organising mass disorders in Minsk and sentenced him to 5 years imprisonment, to be served in a “strict regime” prison.
