Ukraine chooses integration with Europe

"Russia does not put forward any conditions concerning Ukraine's membership in the Customs Union," the head of the Ukrainian Department for Foreign Affairs, Konstantin Grishchenko, has declared.

“No conditions from Russia’s side regarding Ukraine’s official entry into the Customs Union have been put forward; only a desire to see our country in this union has been expressed,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, speaking in Parliament on Friday, according to a report by “Interfax Ukraine”.

He also again stressed that European integration is a priority for Ukraine, whilst Kiev intends to work with the Customs Union, without joining it.

“Ukraine intends to cooperate with the Customs Union without formal membership of it,” emphasized the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We are not taking part in a negotiation process with the Customs Union, as such,” he stressed.
