Sannikov: I accept talks with Lukashenko – about the transfer of power

Apart from the terms of his surrender, there is nothing to discuss with the Belarusian dictator.

The presidential candidate of Belarus, Andrei Sannikov, called today from the prison at Novopolotsk. A political prisoner is entitled to a monthly 10-minute telephone conversation with his family.

His wife, Irina Khalip, told the site charter97.org that Andrei Sannikov was able to comment on the latest initiative of the Belarusian dictator.

“I accept talks with Lukashenko. But only on one issue – about the transfer of power. Apart from the terms of his surrender, there is nothing to discuss with him. All this is still going to happen before the end of the year, but for the moment Lukashenko has a choice how exactly to go. If he does not use this opportunity, he will have no choice later,” said the presidential candidate.

Andrei Sannikov was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in a strict regime prison for organizing an act of protest against the falsified results of the presidential elections.
