Bondarenko, a political prisoner, fears psychological pressure
The political prisoner, Zmitser Bandarenka, does not exclude that harsh pressure will be also applied on the presidential candidates Andrei Sannikov and Mikalai Statkevich, and on the head of the Young Front, Zmitser Dashkevich.
As the wife of political prisoner, Volha Bandarenka, told “Radio Ratsyja,” her husband writes in every letter with concern about the situation concerning the prison policy makers:
“Even before the information about the transfer of Andrei, he wrote that he felt that some kind of dirty trick was being prepared. Now in a letter he writes that Andrei and Zmitser have been unexpectedly moved, that some foul tricks have been thought up. People write a lot to him, everyone has been expecting this, and he has been expecting this muck. Everyone relaxed too much – the transfer of Andrei and Zmitser comes from this negative line. The authorities are openly playing the role of villains and are not going to abandon this role.”
Zmitser Bandarenka was sentenced to two years imprisonment under Article 342: organization and preparation of activities that breach public order, or active participation in them. Bandarenka was one of the leaders of the election campaign of Andrei Sannikov; he participated in a rally against the falsification of the presidential elections on 19 December 2010. During his detention under arrest, he underwent a complicated operation on his spine.
